A client wanted a tea party themed birthday cake for her daughter’s birthday and left the design on me. After some brainstorming I decided to experiment and made the teapot. Everything in the kettle including the handle, sprout and lid are edible and made with special attention to the detail in order for it to give a real affect. The floral work (Lilly, blossoms and roses were matched with the theme to beautify the appearance of the kettle. The bottom tier was vanilla with buttercream and strawberries and the kettle was chocolate with chocolate fudge filling. Turned out that the cake was a big hit at the party both design wise and the taste!

My name is Fakhira and baking is my passion. I’m doing this for nearly 35 years. I learned to bake at that time from an institute back home but when it comes to cake decoration, I’m a self-taught person. What ever I do is totally my own.
I made this cake a while ago. I’m very much inspired by nature and so many of my cakes reflects my inspiration. I love doing those cakes that requires lots of things I can do by hand without any tools or gadgets.
First tier of this cake is Madeira sponge filled with chocolate buttercream and the top tier is lemon cake with vanilla buttercream. Both tiers iced with vanilla buttercream. I measured the cake and cut rectangular shape of the sugar paste slightly longer than the cake. I draw the tree effect lines by hand. They were than pasted on the cake. I hand painted it with brown food colour giving an effect of light and dark here and there.  I draw the heart and the arrow as this is a symbol of love around the world.
Flower and leaves are made from gum paste. Before putting the top tier up, I painted the top of cakes with freehand circles and lines and painted it with brown and yellow colours.
I made this cake for a friend’s garden party. It was appreciated by everyone ???? I never thought this cake’s going to wear a winning crown.

Hello, I am glad to have participated and won the race. Of the pie I can tell you that it has been realized for the birthday of my daughter. She has chosen the theme “Tropical cake” and being a lover of flowers being of animals, I thought to insert elements typical TROPICALS: flowers (made in pasta of sugar and painted with food colors) surfboard (pasta of sugar painted with brushes Brushes food colors ) coconut emptied and coated with paste of sugar and the realization of the parrot ara (always in pasta of sugar). The first floor was true cake the second false.

Beschreibung der Torte / Description of the cake:

Diese Torte wurde zur Einschulung meiner Tochter kreiert. Der untere Teil besteht aus einem Wunderkuchen der mit geschmolzener Vollmilch Schokolade verfeinert wurde und dadurch angenehm nach Schokolade schmeckte. Die Torte wurde mit einer Vollmilch Ganache gefüllt und eingestrichen.

Der mittlere Teil besteht ebenfalls aus einem Wunderkuchen, denn ich mit geriebener Schale von einer Bio Orange und Orangensaft verfeinerte. Für die Füllung nahm ich Mascarpone, Sahne und ebenfalls den frisch gepressten Orangensaft mit der geriebenen Orangenschale. Damit es fruchtig schmeckt legte ich noch Mandarinen aus der Dose auf die Böden. Außen kam eine französische Buttercreme die ich ebenfalls mit Grand Manier und ein geriebene Orangenschalen  verfeinerte.

Der obere Teil ( Bücher ) besteht aus einem Zitronen Rührkuchen den ich mit meiner selbst hergestellten Zitronen Gelee füllte. Außen strich ich den Kuchen mit einer weißen Ganache ein.

Die Blumen, Tassen, Rosen und Figur sind aus Zucker und mit der Hand modelliert. Das Moos ist nicht Echt, also Kunstmoos.  Für diese Torte benötigte ich insgesamt eine Woche. Zwischen der Orangentorte und dem Zitronenkuchen sind zwei Dummis eingearbeitet.

This cake was created to the enrollment of my daughter. The lower part consists of a wonder-cake refined with melted whole milk chocolate and therefore tastes pleasant to chocolate. The cake was filled and brusher with a whole milk ganache.

The middle part also consists of a wonder cake, because I refined with grated peel of a organic orange and orange juice. For the filling I took mascarpone, cream and also the freshly squeezed orange juice with the grated orange peel. So that it tastes fruity, I put tangerines from the tin on the floors. Outside I chose a French buttercream which I also refined with Grand Manier and a grated orange peel.

The upper part (books) consists of a lemon sponge cake which I filled with my own made lemon jelly. Outside, I painted the cake with a white ganache.

The flowers, cups, roses and figurine are made of sugar and modeled by hand. The moss is not real, so artificial moss. For this cake I needed a whole week. Between the orange cake and the lemon cake are two dummies incorporated.
